Pheasant Hunts

A full day hunt is based on a minimum of four hunters. This is a fully guided hunt, and we welcome your dog. We do insist on having one of our pups accompany the group until we see that your dog is having fun and providing the experience you want for yourself and your guests. If you don’t have four friends, you can always check with us to see if we have any half-day options available. All our guided hunts include seven prime, long-tailed rooster pheasants per hunter and an excellent lunch. Bird cleaning services are available (see cost below), and pricing does not include Idaho State sales tax or game licensing.

ONE DAY | NO STAY

Our overnight hunts incorporate some exceptional opportunities! First class accommodation in our Lazy Bear Ranch Guest Suites. Twelve rooms fitted with king-size beds, private bathroom, luxury linens and spa towels. 

Made to order dinners and breakfast prepared by our chef in commercial kitchen. (View our Hunter’s Menu.) Included is lodging, all food, non-alcoholic beverages, guiding and 7 hard flying rooster pheasants per hunter. 

The Lazy Bear Ranch has a “full liquor license and bar” so we will take care of all your adult beverage needs. Please, no outside alcohol is permitted.
All overnight guests can take advantage of our newly fabricated “Duck Blind” located on the Weiser River. 

Go down in the evening before dinner or get up early pre-breakfast and see how the wild birds are flying before you enjoy your pheasant hunt. Wild quail is also available to overnight guests as well.
Because these birds are wild, you must be in season and have appropriate licensing. We shoot quail when we are out on our pheasant hunts. All packages are based on a 4-hunter minimum.

The pride of the Lazy Bear Ranch is the quality of both the birds and the dogs. You will not find wilder flushing, harder flying pheasant anywhere!  Tim personally trains the dogs he works, and they are endlessly complimented by clients.

Tim likes to say, “One shouldn’t brag about your hunting dog until after they die, but it is too hard not to!”

All joking aside, a major differentiating factor in hunts with Tim are the Lazy Bear’s English Pointers and their remarkable ability to find birds and retrieve.  It is truly a joy to watch these dogs work as they help make your Lazy Bear experience over the top!

There is NO bird cleaning station on premises.

We provide Bird Cleaning Services for the following rates:

-BREASTED – $4.00

-BREAST & LEGS – $6.00

Washed and put in Ziplock freezer bags.

There is NO bird cleaning station on premises.

To buy an Idaho hunting license, hunters born on or after January 1, 1975 must show proof of hunter education or a previous hunting license from any state.

(To make it easy: if you’ve ever hunted before, just bring an old license as proof. If you were born before 1/1/75, you’re all set.)

To hunt at Lazy Bear Ranch, you’ll need either:

A valid Idaho hunting license or

A Shooting Preserve Permit (SPP)

Idaho Residents → hunting license

Non-Residents (hunting only at the ranch) → SPP ($23.75)

You can purchase the SPP anywhere Idaho licenses are sold or online through Idaho Fish & Game. If needed, ask for it under “permits” → “non-resident.”
